Intellectual Property covers things like patents, copyright and trademarks and helps protect your property from others who may look to imitate or steal your ideas, products or services. In this talk, delivered by the Intellectual Property Office, you’ll get an overview of the different kinds of intellectual property, learn to check if your offering can be registered as intellectual property and make sure you aren’t in breach of intellectual property rights held by others. With a Q&A and networking opportunities afterwards.

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is the government body for intellectual property rights in the UK. The IPO is responsible for examining, issuing and rejecting patent applications, as well as keeping a register of patents, designs and trademarks used in the UK.

This workshop is partially funded by the U Start project to support students, graduates and university staff to unlock their entrepreneurial potential and become enterprise ready.

This event includes a buffet (with vegetarian choice) and gives you the opportunity to network with like-minded people in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
