  • Home Visits – Best practice for staying safe whilst conducting a home visit

Speaker: Victoria Garratt, The Suzy Lamplugh Trust

The organisation was established in 1986, following the disappearance of 25 year old Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent who went to meet a client and never returned.  Since then, the Trust has pioneered personal safety as a life skill and a public policy priority and is widely regarded as field experts in lone-working and personal safety training.  This talk will raise your awareness of personal safety at work and will be of particular interest to those who work alone, those who conduct home visits, and those responsible for health and safety at work.

The campaigning and policy work of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust has been pivotal to changes in legislation and practice nationally – including in the introduction of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, and the upcoming stalker protection orders.  The Trust offers an advocacy service for victims of stalking through their National Stalking Helpline (0802 802 0300), the first service of its kind anywhere in the world and has responded to more than 26,000 contacts since 2010.
