KeyPlus owner Brian Curran has continued his promise to voluntarily go further than the government minimum wage as a member of the living wage foundation.

KeyPlus Security have been an advocate of a fair wage for employees, in line with The Living Wage Foundation for over 3 years. This means KeyPlus employees will now automatically benefit from a 3.6% pay rise.

The Living Wage Foundation provides information of the true salary requirement, independently calculated, based on the real cost of living in the UK and London. This means the Living Wage Foundation Accredited Employers like KeyPlus, voluntarily pay more than the governments recommended minimum wage.

The calculation is based on a number of factors, including higher rates of inflation and rising costs that affect us all including, essential shopping, transportation and housing costs.

Brian explained, “It’s important to me we look after our staff. They work in a dangerous industry and environment, providing much needed security support to businesses, properties and individuals. We recognise and are grateful to them for this.”

“KeyPlus was the first security company in the whole of Lancashire to become an advocate. Even now there is only one other”.

“However, it’s not just about providing the right training and protection for the job. We also need to realise the practical side of life and living costs are continuously rising.”

“We are all aware of austerity and understand we are living through an unstable economic period, so if there are additional ways we can support our employees, we will go above and beyond”.

Brian enthused, “KeyPlus are 1 of only 3,800 Living Wage Foundation Accredited Employers across the UK and we are proud to be associated with them”.

Good Employers Attract Great People

KeyPlus have a number of initiatives to support their staff and Brian Curran believes this is key to providing customers with the best service.

Office Manager Alison Stansfield explained “Due to the nature of the security industry, KeyPlus employees work unsociable hours, protecting clients businesses when they are most vulnerable; through the night and sometimes in an emergency

“So I am delighted to be representing a company that champions the well-being and morale of its employees through The Living Wage Foundation, lone worker policy protections and fair working practices.

“This support is naturally appreciated by all our staff. We can see this from the great feedback we continuously receive from customers and the pro-active way our staff approach their work”.

“The news of this wage rise to all KeyPlus employees is great and we applaud Brian’s ethics in ensuring a fair wage to all, throughout the business”.
